På kanten af Atlanten Madeira er en portugisisk ø midt i Atlanterhavet – i folkemunde kaldet: ”Den flydende Blomsterkumme.” Hovedstaden, Funchal, located on the island's South side. A vibrant city with a rich cultural life with many museums, theatres, beautiful churches and buildings. The city exudes life and happy days with a street trading, where anything can be obtained for a spot price. However, it may be worthwhile to haggle a bit about prices. The language is Portuguese, but many speak and understand English.
